Upon starting in a cloud of confetti and cheering from volunteers, friends, and family, riders will proceed through beautiful downtown Bentonville. Next, enjoy 20 miles of flat to gentle rolling roads that feature beautiful cattle ranches and wide-open skies. Just before reaching the first rest stop of the day, a 5-mile long timed segment offers riders an opportunity to test their speed! After a gentle start to the day, Gran riders should be ready to depart the first rest stop and head north into the rolling hills of the very northwest corner of Arkansas feeling pretty good. But don’t be fooled, the next 58.5 miles could best be described as a roller coaster of steep ups and fast downs. Don’t forget to resupply and take in the local musical talent featured at two more rest stops along the way! Having conquered countless short steep hills and 3 more timed segments, Gran riders will make their way back to Bentonville. Riders will hit our Timing Finish Line three miles away from our Family Fun Festival, and these last three miles will be a neutral ride to the festival grounds where family and friends await to celebrate the day with you! The Saturday Medio course is a perfect opportunity for riders who may not quite be ready for the distance of the Gran course. Or for those who want to make it back to the party at the festival expo a little sooner! Next, enjoy 20 miles of flat to gently rolling roads that feature beautiful cattle ranches and wide-open skies. Just before reaching the first rest stop of the day, a 5-mile long timed segment offers riders an opportunity to test their speed!

After a gentle start to the day, Medio riders should be ready to depart the first rest stop and head east into the rolling hills just north of Bentonville feeling pretty good. But don’t be fooled, the next 33 miles could best be described as a roller coaster of steep ups and fast downs. Don’t forget to resupply and take in the local musical talent featured at the second of 2 rest stops fully supplied to take care of Medio riders. To finish, riders will hit our Timing Finish Line three miles away from our Family Fun Festival, and these last three miles will be a neutral ride to the festival grounds where family and friends await to celebrate the day with you! The Day 1 Piccolo course offers riders new to cycling or just dipping their toes into riding in groups a chance to test their fitness and enjoy the festive atmosphere that Gran Fondo Hincapie is known for! Upon starting in a cloud of confetti and cheering from volunteers, friends, and family, riders will proceed through beautiful downtown Bentonville alongside Gran and Medio riders.

For the first 9 miles, Piccolo riders will be treated to gentle rolling hills and the lush green landscape of farms along McKisic Creek—a perfect opportunity to warm up and gain confidence before reaching the Piccolo Timed Segment on the most challenging part of the course. While this section is only a mile and a half long, it features a challenging climb up to one of Bentonville’s most iconic mountain bike spots, The OZ Castle!

After climbing up to The Oz Castle, Piccolo riders will work their way back into downtown Bentonville. Be sure to enjoy all the artwork on the way to the finish line. It can all be viewed from the comfort of your saddle! A short ride through town and the red carpet is in sight. Put on your best smile, roll across the finish line, and join in the celebration at the post ride festival! Here you can share the stories from the road and enjoy the complementary food and beverage. This will be key as the challenges of tomorrow’s course arrive the very next morning!
